ABOUT
Welcome to Not My Son, where great cause and labor meet. We are here to encourage, inspire, inform, and educate underserved communities. Our goal is to enhance wellness and provide a safe platform to strengthen individuals and families and decrease poverty.
Not My Son is a non-profit 501-c3 purpose-driven organization aiming to expand our programs and services throughout communities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to help those in need. We are focused on building community relationships while taking direct action in the community. Our mission is to empower underrepresented voices and distribute/provide resources to those in the community who need them most.
Since the protests propelled after the killing of George Floyd by MPD back in June of 2020, we've had the privilege of serving our fellow Dallas residents through our social justice impact & community outreach efforts. We have organized resources, ideas, and passion into direct community action. Since June of 2020, we have hosted over 10 rallies for social justice & protests, fed 3,723 Dallas residents in need, held back to school drives servicing 2,000 students with school supplies, backpacks, and tutoring resources, for Christmas we provided over 100 children with Christmas gifts, hosted many cleanups in the Southern Sector, registered 1,700 Dallas residents to vote, provided and managed rapid rehousing assistance during the High Hills Apartment Explosion that occurred September 29, 2021 in which we assisted over 134 families, and Housed 600 families during the winter storm.
Not My Son has fought for change in the community. We will continue to be a bridge for the people.
